UPDATE TO THE PRESS RELEASE OF 21 APRIL 2026: VBL’s property portfolio worth over two billion euros transferred to a contribution fund.

Karlsruhe, 22 April 2026. In addition to our press release of 21 April 2026, “VBL Strategically Repositions Its residential property portfolio”, we hereby announce that the Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL) is transferring its existing on-balance-sheet property portfolio, valued at over two billion euros, into the “Via Nova Wohnen” fund. This forms part of the total residential property portfolio with a market value of around seven billion euros. The Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL) is one of Germany’s largest institutional property owners. It remains the economic owner via its fund units. It retains strategic control over the long-term security and sustainable development of the portfolio. This also ensures continuity and security for tenants: there will be no changes to tenancies. On-site management and the familiar contact persons will also remain in place. The changes relate exclusively to the structure behind the scenes.
